DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT
Aggmore will act as Development Manager to deliver a series of modular data centres across the UK and Europe in partnership with industry-leading experts in design, construction and operation to actively manage and mitigate potential development and financial risks.
Data Centres are an increasingly important part of global digital infrastructure. Demand for the storage and processing of data is dramatically increasing due to the growth of cloud computing, the demands of fourth generation (4G) wireless networks, environmental directives setting strict efficiency and sustainability criteria, and legislation required data to be stored for longer periods of time. The supply of “fit for purpose” data centres has been constrained by several factors including a lack of coordination between fibre-optic network providers and data centre operators, and the lack of debt finance for real estate developments.
It is proposed that the first two data centres will be located in Birmingham and Belfast. The assets are being funded by investment partnerships in association with Harcourt Capital. The centres will be connected to a fully meshed global fibre network through providers including Colt and Hibernia.
